a new music trio, of three pianists

Founded by Mabel Yu-ting Huang, Magdalena Cerezo Falces, and Jana Luksts - f:t

The piano is unequivocally a solo instrument, a mechanism with endless possibilities. f:t brings three established soloists together, featuring new and pre-existing repertoire for three pianos, six hands, alternative keyboard instruments, and ad-hoc instrumentations.

Based throughout Germany - namely Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Wuppertal - f:t implements new and alternative approaches of collaborating and developing concert formats related to music, art, and education.

f:t seeks to create highly focused and curated programmes, which inherently reflect the current social, political, and environmental issues we face today.

An extensively collaborative unit, f:t takes great care to incorporate their individual artistic visions, as well as collective, in addition to prioritizing influences and partnerships between extra-musical fields.

The subsequent programming and performances presented by f:t, are a cohesive reflection of discussion, argument, growth, theatricality, and artistic expression.

Upcoming engagments include performance-concept «deconstructing» at Gedok Stuttgart, kindly supported by Musikfonds e.V. and Neustart Kultur, and a Goethe Institut “Virtual Partner Residency” with NYC-based composer George Katehis, in order to realize a piece for six hands. Later this year, f:t looks forward to releasing a video of Elena Rykova’s “101% mind uploading”, in collaboration with filmaker Korinna Herzig, made possible by Musik der Jahrhunderte and Landeshaupt Stadt Stuttgart.
